ZIGZO: THE BATTLE OF LOVE

After a long period without output, ZIGZO reforms and we are treated to a very new and unique (and awful!) drum sound from Sakura. Let there be no doubt, although this is a beautiful looking set, it sounds dreadful if I may so.

DRUMS:
Snare drum: 14"x6.5" Pearl Aluminum Free-Floating
Toms: Pearl Acrylic 14"x8", 16"x16", 18"x16"
Bass drum: Pearl Acrylic 24"x16"

Quite easy to see this from the studio shots.

HEADS:
Snare drum: Remo Coated Ambassador (top), Remo Ambassador Snare Side (bottom)
Toms: Remo Controlled Sound (top), Remo Clear Ambassador (bottom)
Bass drum: Remo Controlled Sound (batter), Pearl stock reso head (resonant)

I am not sure it's actually an Ambassador on the snare. It sounds like a Coated Control Sound or something, but I don't see any sort of dot on the head. Not sure how to account for how awful this snare drum sounds! On the record, or live, I cannot get into the sound of this drum at all.

CYMBALS:
15" Paiste 2002 Sound Edge Hi-Hats
14"? Paiste 2002 Sound Edge Hi-Hats
22" Paiste 2002 Ride
18" and 17" Paiste Signature Full Crash
18" or 17" Paiste Formula 602 Crash
19" Sabian Paragon Chinese

Despite the awful sounding drums, the cymbals ring beautifully on this album. The hats are still mysterious - maybe just a 14" and 15" set of Paiste 2002 Sound Edges? The china is still a 19" Sabian Paragon Chinese.
